Lodging suggestions

So the entire in-law (outlaw?) side of the family is wanting to go somewhere on vacation. Discussion of Beach (not sure which one, although I'd guess Myrtle or Nags Head or such), or Gatlinburg.

Anybody got any good places they stayed, suggestions, etc?

I know its going to be expensive (more than they think), and its probably better to get a house (or cabin depending where you go), probably be 6 people....so if hotels, looking at 2 or 3 rooms most likely.

There is a place in North Myrtle Beach called Apache Creek Campground. You can rent cottages there for 6-8 people for right around $600 per week. The cottages have everything ya would want. It is a decent place to stay. They have their own pool and the largest pear down there to fish from. I've stayed there twice and I really liked it. Price was excellent too.

You can spend 5 nights at Disney World for about $1000 per couple, including on-site accomodations and tickets [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img]
Ok so maybe it's more than you're looking for - but it's fun!

Why not try either ST. Simon's Island or Jeckyll Island in Brunswick, Ga.? You are an hour north of Jacksonville, Fla.. an hour south of Savannah, Ga. Lots of things to see there.

I might also add that if you are all grown(ie. no kids under 18) this would be perfect for anyone.

Topsail Beach just north of Wilmington is nice.

Nags Head is also nice, although you're a little late to the game there to get a decent house for a decent price. If you're going there, start planning in November, make a house reservation in January.

It would prob. be cheaper to hotel it at Nags Head now. Peak housing prices and usually not a whole lot available.

Topsail, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach are all cool places.. also look at Holden Beach. It is about an hour from Wilmington area and also an hour to Myrtle Beach. It is quiet but short drive to the 'action',,,ha
